May sales of French A-class cars up 16 percent in China

BEIJING— May sales of French brands’ locally produced A-class cars in China rose 9.7 percent on a yearly basis to 23,227 units, and their market share was up by 0.2 percentage point to 4.4 percent.

Citroën and Peugeot sales in the segment were 17,960 and 5,267 units, up 29.2 and down 27.5 percent.

In the first five months of this year, the combined sales of French brands in the segment were 128,793 units, up 21 percent with the market share of 4.6 percent.

Citroën sales during the period were 86,962 units, up 26.3 percent and Peugeot 41,931 units, up 11.2 percent.
