SHANGHAI – Aston Martin Lagonda (China) Ltd. has appointed Michael Peng as its new president, effective on February 1, succeeding Jenny Zheng, according to a report on auto.sohu.com.
He will assume operational responsibility for Aston Martin China business.
Prior to this new position, Peng was sales director of Porsche China since May 2008, and then worked as director of public relations and press from January 8, 2014 to December 2014.
Peng has both international and China automotive experience, and was the perfect candidate to lead the Aston Martin brand in China, said Christian Marti, global sales director of the sports car maker.
Peng holds a BS from Shanghai Tongji University and a Master from Germany. He joined BMW AG after graduation and assumed administrative responsibilities including BMW’s business operations in Asia.
Zheng, former president of Aston Martin Lagonda China, will retire from her position. Before joining Aston Martin, she served as president of Rolls-Royce Greater China for seven years and used to be vice president for Porsche China.
Aston Martin Lagonda (China) Automobile Distribution Co., Ltd. was established on June 1, 2011. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., and general distributor of Aston Martin cars in China.
