September sales of German brands’ B-class cars increase 6.2 percent

BEIJING – Sales of German brands’ locally produced B-class cars rose 6.2 percent on a yearly basis to 62,710 units in September, and their market share was down by 1.2 percentage points to 35.3 percent.

Shanghai-Volkswagen sales in the segment were 20,435 units, down 16.8 percent and FAW-Volkswagen 33,854 units, up 10.7 percent.

In the first nine months of this year, the combined sales of German brands in this segment came up to 527,512 units, up 16.16 percent, and their market was 35.5 percent, up 2.1 percentage points compared to the same period of last year.

Shanghai-Volkswagen sales were 200,184 units, up 5.2 percent, while those of FAW-Volkswagen rose 21.1 percent to 258,542 units.
