State Grid announces construction goals for new charging stations

BEIJING – On May 27, State Grid held a press conference in Beijing regarding its plans for the country’s network of EV charging stations.

The plan is to set up 65 new charging stations and 3000 new charging units during the first half of this year. By the end of 2013, State Grid had built 400 charging stations and 190,000 charging units.

State Grid noted in the press conference that construction in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone would be the major focus of this process, and that it will help to reduce atmospheric pollution in those areas.
