Toyota China recalls imported Lexus RX300

Beijing – Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., which oversees sales of imported Lexus models in China, began recalling 2,314 units of the imported Lexus RX300 SUV on July 28 due to a defect with the floor rug pressboard brackets.
The affected vehicles were produced from February 10, 2003 to May 24, 2005. The two brackets of the pressboard on the driver’s side could fall off due to improper installation and the pressboard could drop and press against the acceleration pedal. Under extreme conditions, this may cause the acceleration pedal to not return to the normal position and also hinder braking.
Owners will receive written notification of a complimentary service to replace the defective brackets.
