SHANGHAI – The Volkswagen Education Foundation was established on June 20 at Tongji University.
The Foundation, jointly run by Volkswagen Group China and Shanghai-Volkswagen, will offer ¥2 million ($25,974) over the next three years to support financially unprivileged first-year, fourth or fifth-year students at the University.
Volkswagen Group China and Shanghai-Volkswagen will introduce further funds to support more students in the future.
Volkswagen has established a long-term partnership with Tongji University in several areas. As early as June 2000, the Tongji-VW Automobile College was jointly founded. In order to conduct more academic research and to provide professional training, Tongji University gets supported by the Volkswagen Group to improve its research programs and trainings of professionals and academics.
