Volkswagen recalls DSG problem cars again in China

BEIJING – Volkswagen began to recall vehicles with DSG problem again in China on July 3, according to a statement from China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

This new recall campaign, as part for the earlier one initiated on April 2, will mainly target imported Volkswagen and Audi models such as the Scirocco, Golf Variant, A1 and A3 produced in 2011. A total of 3,863 vehicles will be recalled this time.

Volkswagen China said that the misjudgment by Volkswagen headquarters in Germany on production range of defective components of gearboxes is the reason for this new recall.

Since April 2, Volkswagen in China has recalled more than 380,000 vehicles to deal with the gearbox failure.
