Volvo August China sales up 42.5 percent

THENBURG, Sweden – THENBURG, Sweden – Volvo Cars’ largest market China reported August sales amounting to 6,154 cars, up 42.5 per cent from a year earlier, according to a company news release.

The company sold 51,568 cars in China in the first eight months of the year, an increase of 36.9 percent.

The Volvo XC60 crossover was the best-selling model followed by the S60L sedan. 

The company’s global sales reached 29,257 cars in August, up 8.4 percent driven by a strong performance in key markets.

“With continued positive developments in key markets, Volvo Cars is clearly on track towards an all-time high sales result for this year,” says Alain Visser, senior vice president, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars.
