Volvo Cars November sales up 15.6 percent in China

THENBURG, Sweden – China, Volvo Cars’ largest market, reported November sales of 6,933 cars, up 15.6 percent from the previous year, according to a company news release.

The company sold 72,760 vehicles in the first 11 months in China, an increase of 33.6 percent from 2013.The Volvo XC60 crossover was the best-selling model followed closely by the S60L sedan.

Volvo Cars’ global sales reached 38,941 cars in November, up 2.6 percent year-on-year. Volvo Cars posted a 17th consecutive month of retail sales growth in November, with China and Europe recording a sales increase compared to November 2013.

“With no less than 17 months of consecutive growth we have demonstrated that Volvo Cars’ growth is both consistent and sustainable,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars. “It was also encouraging to get all the positive feedback on the new Volvo V60 Cross Country which is a great addition to an already very attractive product offer.”
