Volvo China July sales down 15.3 percent

THENBURG, Sweden –Volvo Cars July sales in China posted a 15.3 percent decline year-on-year to a total of 5,832 vehicles, according to a company news release.

The company sold 44,124 vehicles in the largest automobile market in the first seven months this year, down 3.3 percent from 2014.

Volvo Cars said that the decline in China reflects the current overall market uncertainty and instability. The locally produced XC60 and S60L models are the most sold Volvo models in China.

Volvo Cars’ global sales reached 38,128 vehicles in July, up 4.6 percent on a yearly basis, thanks to sales of the new Volvo XC90 and continued strong demand for Volvo’s ’60-series carlines.
