SHANGHAI – Volvo Car Corp. (Volvo Cars) announced on August 7 that Yuan Xiaolin has been appointed president of Volvo Cars China, reporting to Lars Danielson, senior vice president of Volvo Cars and CEO of Volvo Cars China.
Yuan joined Geely Holding Group (Geely) in 2009 as M&A director responsible for Geely’s acquisition of Volvo Cars. He subsequently became secretary of the board of directors and head of Chairman’s Office at Volvo Cars in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prior to his tenure at Geely and Volvo Cars, he served as a manager with BP Group from 2001 to 2009.
Volvo Cars sold 45,414 vehicles in China in the first seven months of 2014, up 36.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
Volvo Cars China also announced on August 11 that Liu Yan, current executive vice president of sales and marketing at Volvo Cars (China) Sales Co., Ltd., will be promoted to COO effective September 1. Liu will report to Fu Qiang, president and CEO of Volvo Cars (China) Sales.
