SHENYANG, Liaoning – CHJ Automotive and Brilliance Automotive Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement here on September 1 where the two will team up on smart EV R&D, supply chain and manufacturing and utilize and share their respective resources and advantages.
The signing of the agreement provides CHJ Automotive and Brilliance a broad cooperation prospect, which is expected to help them to implement enterprise strategies more effectively in the future.
Just 10 days prior to the signing of the agreement, the smart EV startup founded by former autohome.com founder Li Xiang began trial production of its SEV at its smart vehicle production base in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, just a year after breaking ground. A second production base also broke ground. The SEV, which has a size of half a smart, is expected to hit the market in the first half of 2018.
Over the last two years, CHJ has also formed close cooperative partnerships with a large number of international and domestic top component suppliers.
Brilliance is the leading enterprise in Liaoning Province and the country’s ninth largest automaker by sales, selling vehicles under the Jinbei, Zhonghua, Huasong and BMW-Brilliance brands.
