Lincoln begins pre-order for locally produced Corsair, set for March 2020 launch

SHANGHAI – Ford’s luxury brand Lincoln began accepting orders for the first ever locally produced Lincoln on December 27.

The Lincoln Corsair, produced by Chang’an-Ford and badged “Chang’an-Lincoln” will be offered in five variants with pre-sale prices at ¥248,000-¥350,000. The model will officially launch to market in March 2020.

Positioned as an entry-level luxury SUV, the Corsair, from the Latin word “Cursus” meaning journey or path, is equipped with 50 standard luxurious features

“As Lincoln’s first China produced model, the all new Lincoln Corsair will maintain Lincoln’s global manufacturing and quality standards and provide Chinese customers with a world-class quality product based on the “American Luxury Chinese Made” benchmark,” said Mao Jingbo, president of Lincoln China.

The Corsair has exterior dimensions of 4,615, 1,887 and 1,630 mm (LxWxH) with a wheelbase of 2,711 mm, and retains Lincoln’s “Quite Flight” DNA from the larger Lincoln Aviator that was recently launched to market.

All variants of the Corsair are equipped with a standard 2.0L turbocharged engine with maximum power of 180 kW and peak torque of 390 Nm, mated with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. A CCD suspension system with 12 sensors monitors the vehicle body, steering, acceleration and braking to provide greater maneuverability and handling. A smart drive system offers standard, sport, energy-saving, anti-slip and complex drive modes.

To cater to connectivity needs of China’s younger customers, the Corsair is equipped with a China-exclusive 12.8-inch screen and SYNC+ telematics system. It also offers a Phone As a Key option that customers can use on the Lincoln Way smartphone APP that can open and lock the vehicle as well as start it. An Auto Air Refresh air purification system blocks pollutants including PM2.5 particles, while a notification sound system created by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra provide the vehicle with 25 prompts.

On the driver assistance side, the Corsair is equipped with more than 30 functions provided by the Co-Pilot360™ Plus system, including Stop & Go, LCA, ACC, AEB, PCA, RBA, APAP and ESA. A Revel® premium stereo system with 13 speakers and front seats with 24 directions of adjustment and heating, massaging, memory and ventilation provide passengers with unrivaled comfort. The Corsair also has an HUD with DLP technology.

Lincoln will offer the first 2020 owners of the Corsair 5 years of quality warranty, zero down or low monthly payments as well as luxury vehicle delivery to home.

The Corsair is expected to compete with entry level SUVs from other luxury brands such as the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Cadillac XT4.
