BEIJING – China produced 500 plug-in hybrid buses in the first two months of the year, according to factory production certificate data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) as reported by cvworld.cn.
February production reached only 303 units, down 38 percent (production of battery electric buses, on the other hand, was zero).
Only two companies – Yutong and Zhongtong – produced plug-in hybrid buses in February at all, while only three (including Ankai) had production in the first two months of 2017. Yutong and Zhongtong produced 370 and 129 plug-in hybrid buses during the period, accounting for 74 and 25.8 percent of the entire market, while Ankai produced one unit. All others had zero production up to February.
