According to data from CBU Analytics, China’s registration volume of locally-produced passenger cars, MPVs and SUVs in November 2017 reached 2.36 million units, up 2.37 percent year-on-year. Passenger vehicles with engine displacement of 1.6L and below increased to take up 71.07 percent of the total domestic PV registration volume. In the first 11 months of the year, domestic PV registration volume increased 0.56 percent to 19.92 million units.
For locally-produced passenger vehicles by brand origin, in November, Chinese brand passenger vehicle end-user sales increased 1.87 percent, with SUVs taking up 61.07 percent of the volume. German brands increased 12.18 percent, Japanese brands increased 5.09 percent, British brands increased 44.94 percent driven by SUVs, American brands increased 2.06 percent, and Swedish brand Volvo Cars increased 33.49 percent. However, Korean and French brands fell 24.34 and 13.47 percent respectively.
