China VI emissions standards for diesel heavy-duty vehicles to go into effect July 1, 2019

BEIJING – The China VI emissions standards for diesel heavy-duty vehicles will go into effect on July 1, 2019, according to the Limits and Measurement Methods for Emissions from Diesel Fueled Heavy-Duty Vehicles (China VI) released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on July 3.


Specifically, all natural gas heavy-duty vehicles produced, imported, sold and registered starting from July 1, 2019 must meet the new standards, while all urban vehicles (mainly public transport buses, postal vehicles and environmental sanitation vehicles) produced, imported, sold and registered starting from July 1, 2020 must meet the new standards. Diesel heavy-duty vehicles (mainly heavy-duty trucks) that are produced, imported, sold and registered on July 1, 2021 and later must meet the new standards.
