BEIJING – China’s large bus (including chassis) sales came to 5,076 units in May, up 29.79 percent from the previous month, but down 8.38 percent from the same period of last year, according to a report on cvworld.cn citing statistics by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
Large bus sales in May accounted for 12.58 percent of the total bus sales volume in the month, a minor increase compared with the growth of 11.09 percent in April.
The top 5 large bus makers sold a combined 3,538 units of large buses (excluding chassis) in May, accounting for 69.71 percent of the total large bus sales in the month.
Zhengzhou Yutong remained the first on the top 5 list with sales of 1,705 units, an increase of 9.51 percent on a yearly basis. Zhongtong Bus achieved the highest year-on-year growth rate of 48.53 percent in May with sales of 404 units. Beiqi-Foton had the worst performance among the top 5 with sales of 399 units, down 32.03 percent from April and 44.66 percent from the same month in 2016.
