SHANGRAO, Jiangxi – Shangrao Coach, a subsidiary of B-Energy Holding Group Co., Ltd., broke ground for its new energy bus plant in Shangrao on June 2.
With an investment of ¥3.086 billion ($454 million), the new energy bus plant has a land area of about 800,000 square meters including a floor space of 600,000 square meters. The new bus plant will be equipped with advanced production facilities including robotized welding and painting lines. Operation of the new plant is expected in December 2018 and its annual output capacity will be 15,000 new energy buses and 5,000 school buses.
With a history of more than 40 years, Shangrao Coach is a leading school bus manufacturer and the only provincial-level R&D center for bus technologies in Jiangxi Province. Its product line covers six series of buses and school buses with annual production capacity of 4,000 traditional energy powered buses and school buses as well as 2,000 new energy buses. In 2014, Shangrao Coach had 45 percent share in new energy bus market in Jiangxi Province, and its new energy bus orders reached ¥250 million in 2015 and more than ¥1 billion in 2016.
