SHANGHAI – Shen Feng, former CTO and president-China of Polestar and an industry veteran who has spent many years at Volvo Cars China, has joined smart EV startup NIO as vice president in charge of quality and chairman of its quality management committee.
He will be overseeing the quality administration of NIO’s products from R&D, production to delivery.
Shen received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University in 1996. He began to work at Ford Motor Co. in 1999 and served as technical expert and manager for Ford Powertrain.
In 2010, Shen led and founded Volvo China R&D Center, which has world-class laboratory equipment and R&D capabilities. He became CTO of Polestar in 2016 to take charge of its operating departments such as R&D, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain Management and IT. At the same time, he was vice president of Volvo Group Asia Pacific in charge of R&D and president of Volvo China R&D Co.
Shen has more than 20-years of work experience and has high reputation in the global automotive industry. With his appointment, the quality management of NIO products is expected to be further strengthened.
