CHENGDU – At the 2017 Tencent Global Partner Conference held here on November 8, Tencent officially released its connected vehicle ecosystem named AI in Car and announced the system’s first OEM partners: GAC Group, Chang’an, Geely, BYD and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor.
Ren Yuxin, COO of Tencent, said that AI in Car would use Tencent’s security platform, content platform, big data, cloud computing and AI capabilities to provide specific solutions for the OEMs.
AI in Car has five abilities based on AI including intelligent voice service, scenario-based service, content service, social service and operation value-added service, which can cover the whole living scene of car owners and form the complete intelligent connected auto service platform.
AI in Car relies on intelligent speech platform named Tencent Dingdang to build a complete vehicle-mounted voice technology chain and provide useful voice services. It has intelligent identification of many different mobility scenes and initiatively offer service based on the Tencent Map. At the same time, AI in Car relies on QQ Music and Tencent News to deliver personalized contents for car users; it also can make car users to receive and send WeChat and QQ messages. AI in car will connect the account system of automakers to provide car users with the member value-added service of the exclusive model.
In order to open up and share the latest technology and expertise, the location services of Tencent set up an open laboratory with Comprehensive Transportation Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and other global industry partners like NavInfo.
