ASCHAFFENBURG, Germany – Weichai Power opened a science and technology innovation center in Aschaffenburg, Germany on November 20 and signed a design consultancy letter of interest (LOI) with AVL to jointly build a future technology innovation center at Weichai.
Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power, mentioned that Weichai Power invested ¥2 billion to build the world’s most advanced engine R&D center 10 years ago. “This future technology innovation center to be jointly built with AVL will be the technical support for Weichai Group’s 2030 strategy,” said Tan.
AVL is famous for engine design, development and testing and also is a professional CAE software supplier. It was founded in 1948 with headquarters in Graz, Austria, and is a multinational high-tech group engaged in developing the design of combustion, researching and analyzing power assembly and manufacturing related test systems and equipment. AVL now has already had 45 subsidiaries and branches all over the world.
Weichai Power is a leading supplier of diesel engines in China and has more than 40,000 employees and 40 high-quality subsidiaries. The international process of Weichai Power has also developed rapidly, as it has already built 12 sales outlets abroad and exported products to more than 30 countries and regions including India, Russia and Vietnam.
