BEIJING – Now that Cadillac has put up huge numbers in the sales column in China, it is also putting its name atop one of the most important cultural and sports venues in China’s capital city: the Wukesong Arena.
The facility is now named Cadillac Arena after Cadillac became the official title sponsor on September 21.
The 63,000-square-meter facility has 18,000 seats and hosts more than 100 domestic and international sporting events and concerts annually.
The first international event at Cadillac Arena will be a National Hockey League (NHL) preseason game between the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks on September 23. It will also host the FIBA Basketball World Cup in 2019 and hockey games during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
This is Cadillac’s second title sponsorship of a top venue in China announced in the last two months. In August, the luxury brand became the official title sponsor of the Cadillac · Shanghai Concert Hall.
Cadillac has been one of the fastest growing luxury brands in China this year, with sales up 66.5 percent in the first eight months of 2017 to 107,377 units.
