Lu Yi appointed head of BMW China Shanghai division
SHANGHAI – Lu Yi, vice president of BMW China, will begin to head the Shanghai division of BMW China, effective May 1, 2008, according to a company news release. Lu will be in charge of the company’s operations in East China, including sales, marketing, aftersales services and public communications.
Lu will continue to hold the position of vice president of BMW China, responsible for communications with the government, but no longer in charge of public relations.
Li Yingjun will take over the PR department effective May 1, 2008.
Christian Marsais appointed Valeo Group China vice president
BEIJING – Christian Marsais is Valeo representative in China and Valeo Group vice president. He joined Valeo in 1984 as R&D advanced engineering manager for the Valeo Engine Cooling Branch (France). Five years later, he became engineering manager and then director of the Engine Cooling Division Europe. In 1994, he was appointed engineering director for the Engine Cooling Division USA.
Since 1998, he held a number of management positions before being appointed representative director and senior managing director of Zexel Valeo Climate Control Corporation (Japan) in December 2004 and Valeo vice president, Compressor Branch, in April 2005.
Prior to his appointment in China earlier this year, Marsais was president of Valeo Thermal Systems Japan Corporation in Tokyo.
Brilliance-Jinbei appoints GM and vice GM for its international sales company
SHENYANG, Liaoning – Brilliance-Jinbei Automotive Co., Ltd. recently established an international sales division – Brilliance-Jinbei International Sales Co., Ltd. – to further explore overseas markets. Liu Pengcheng and Yang Yongjing were appointed as general manager and vice general manager of the brand new international division.
Liu has held a number of positions at Jinbei Bus Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (engineer, production manager, director of personnel department, assistant GM, vice general manger), and also held posts as general manager of Shenyang Jinbei Automotive Industry Co., Ltd. (JAIC) and vice president of Shenyang Jinbei Automotive Co., Ltd. Liu was appointed general manager of Brilliance-Jinbei International Sales Co., Ltd. in March, 2008.
Yang Yongjing was appointed vice general manager and manager of the CBU business unit of Brilliance-Jinbei International Sales. Co., Ltd. Yang used to be with Hebei Zhongxing Automobile Co., Ltd., in charge of overseas sales.
The new international sales company covers the export business of vans, light trucks and the Zhonghua brand cars.
Brilliance is planning to showcase its vehicles at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2009. Currently, it’s conducting communications with the auto show organizers over issues like show stand and fees. Brilliance plans to undertake research of the U.S. market to export its vehicles to the world’s largest auto market.
