Yuchai and Huawei sign strategic cooperation agreement for fast development in China VI era

SHENZHEN – Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (Yuchai) and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei) signed a strategic cooperation agreement here on June 14 to promote the business development of both parties in the fields including R&D, informatization, internationalization and business management. 

Based on the agreement, Yuchai and Huawei will make a full play of their respective advantages in the cooperation on the projects including enterprise management reform, business process reengineering, 5G, new energy, smart transportation, smart business park, cloud computing, big data, enterprise data center, photovoltaic inverter and international business expansion. Both Yuchai and Huawei expect that this cooperation will facilitate value increase in products from both sides and enable them to offer more intelligent and diversified services to their customers, achieving a win-win situation. 

Headquartered in Yulin, Guangxi, Yuchai is one of the leading internal combustion engine makers in China. To adapt to the trend of intelligent development, Yuchai started since 2018 to inject fund to develop new generation of China VI engines which will be much higher efficient, much lower energy consumption and much more environmental friendly and build a more intelligent manufacturing plant with a total investment plan of ¥5.2 billion.  

To speed up its R&D of China VI engine products and completion of its intelligent manufacturing facilities, Yuchai hopes to have more technology cooperation with Huawei on R&D system restructuring, digital and smart plant construction, so as to achieve sustained increase in its ability in service, management, organization and comprehensive competitiveness. The engine maker expects that this cooperation will promote the deep integration of new technologies involving big data, 5G, cloud computing, mobility and internet with traditional manufacturing operation to help Yuchai realize strategic transformation successfully and take a leading position in the China VI era, better satisfying customers’ needs. 

At the Beijing International Exhibition on Buses, Trucks & Components held on May 29-31 this year, Yuchai displayed eight China VI engine products and seven new energy powered engine products for large, medium and light buses. The YCK08, one of the engine products on display, is the first certified China VI standard engine in the domestic engine industry. Through China VI emissions upgrading, Yuchai hopes to realize its aim to go global.
